WEEK 1

TUTORIAL

During week one workshop we familiarised ourselves with the ecu homepage as well as blackboard, which we now know is a very useful resource for every unit in this course. We established how to use our student emails, this was done by sending test emails. We then began our first activity/assessment which is our "blog" by making a blogger account and an imageshack or photobucket account. As a class we discussed what was needed within this blogger which was a summary of our notes from our UPCOOO4 lecture, what we did in our workshop for that day and a short summary of the readings for that lesson. We then were told that this must be continued every week and so a weekly posting must occur. Before we left the turtorial we were told that our blog must of been completed for week 1 and that it would be checked in week 2.

LECTURE

Through the lecture many things were discussed but in detail an introductory on university life was mentioned in depth. Learning outcomes were mentioned, showing the university standard of work that should be developed by 'us' unviersity students. Helen introduced us into what UPOOO4 is about and the many things that will be worked on during this course/unit. Basically indicating that computers will be used every week, especially with assessments as well as that it is critical for us to know how to use them well and being independent when completing assessments.

We were informed on assessment content and the percentage of our assessments and exams. This will indicated what each piece of work will be worth overall during the unit.
Plagiarism was mentioned several times due to it being extremely important for university students NOT TO DO, consequences are severe.
